Trump Organization Sought to Hire Nearly 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other companies attempting to do the same, a report released recently stated.

Based on data from the federal labor department, the business aimed to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for staff including servers, clerks, cleaning staff, culinary employees and farm workers was the record filed by the organization, and up from 121 in the previous term, when Trump’s first term concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that the former president had attempted to hire more than 100 overseas workers for seasonal jobs at his Florida resort, according to labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a tightening on immigration laws by his administration that has involved the introduction of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who already hold American work permits; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

In total, the business sought to hire 566 overseas workers over the period the former president has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Significantly, the former president was questioned by some in the GOP this week for remarks justifying the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to spend billions to build a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It isn’t feasible that effectively,” he stated to a interviewer after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the pay of US workers.

The White House refused a request for comment, and the business did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
