Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice

The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.

The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their announcement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a series of photos on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the Chiefs selected in the 2023 draft.

Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable

No police reports were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in several individuals injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.

On the field, he finished the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first time in a ten-year span.
